GM Quick Remote

Product Design
Mobile Web-based Application

The Brief

Design a safe and seamless way for passengers to control the Front Passenger Infotainment (FPI) system in the 2024 Cadillac Celestiq without needing to physically touch the screen.

The Background

The FPI is part of a 55-inch pillar-to-pillar display. While visually striking, its placement made it difficult and unsafe for passengers to interact with while the vehicle was in motion. The team needed to find an elegant solution that matched Cadillac’s premium brand experience.

The Problem

Reaching across the cabin to control the FPI raised ergonomic and safety concerns. Physical controls weren’t feasible, and mobile app integration posed security and timeline issues.

The Solution

We created Quick Remote, a browser-based tool that allows passengers to control the FPI from their personal devices. The interface provided intuitive controls for browsing and media without the need for downloads or extra hardware.
